To achieve the performance goals, no part of The GIANOTTI has been left untouched. From the engine to the suspension, every component has been meticulously designed and optimized with precision.
In early 2021, we picked up a brand-new manual 992 Carrera 2S; less than two days later, the car was completely disassembled. For The GIANOTTI, we utilized components including the engine, front and rear suspension, gearbox, steering system, and seats. Interestingly, the interior dimensions of the 964 are nearly identical to those of the 992—Porsche has made minimal changes to these measurements over the years. This consistency is what makes the 911 such an iconic car: the foundation has remained almost unchanged, while each new model has been progressively refined over generations.
The 450-hp water-cooled flat-six engine from the 992, the seven-speed manual gearbox, the chassis, and the software are all meticulously tuned to work in harmony. This is not a restomod where an old heart is placed in a new body; it’s a completely new driving experience.
For the first model, we used the engine and components from the 992 Carrera 2S. Looking ahead, we don’t rule out incorporating other engine versions and models to further develop The GIANOTTI and expand its driving experience.
The iconic design of the 964 was perfect in its simplicity, but we dared to refine it further [in collaboration with Van Thull Development]. With a lightweight carbon fiber body, we not only reduced the weight to just 1,075 kilograms but also improved aerodynamics for enhanced downforce and efficiency. Our goal wasn’t merely to pay tribute to the past but to amplify it with today’s technology.
Every detail in the design is created with purpose. Nothing is purely aesthetic—even the air intakes for the intercooler are fully functional and specifically engineered for this car. By pairing an original 964 chassis with state-of-the-art technology from the latest generation Porsche 911, we can achieve global homologation while delivering modern comfort and performance without compromise. This is likely the first retro hypercar to meet modern homologation requirements for all 27 EU member states.
